There’s no doubt that, with themes such as Star Wars, Pirates, Ninjago, Alien Conquest and more, Lego have been focusing mostly on boys’ interests in their most recent products. But now they’ve come out with something for girls: Lego Friends. These feature a new style of Lego minifigure, and are made using pastel colors with a wide range of accessories. Olivia’s House is one of the most popular models of this new range, but how does it compare to other Lego ranges?

Is Lego Friends Olivia’s House A Good Value Toy?
The Lego Friends series of toys were designed with girls in mind. Instead of being built all in one go, they are arranged into sections so that girls can play as they build. This makes it easier to play with, especially for younger girls, and gives some flexibility depending on what your child prefers. As the home is built up, you also have more control over what goes where, and the layout of the house is easy to change into something new every time, helping to inspire creativity.
Although many girls may enjoy the standard Lego sets, they are often more targeted towards boys, making the Lego Friends range a welcome addition for parents of young girls. The manufacturer’s recommended age rating for Olivia’s House is 6-12, though younger girls may enjoy it too. Like all Lego toys, it isn’t suitable for children aged three and under due to the small parts.
The details are what make this set so impressive. There are a huge range of accessories included to turn this house into a real home – this includes a number of food items, different rooms, flowers, seating and more. Unfortunately the new models included with the Lego Friends sets don’t snap into place when sitting on the chairs, and the hair can sometimes fall off. However, it’s still easy enough to play with, and the sheer number of accessories helps to make up for this shortcoming.
If you’ve been looking for a more feminine Lego set for your daughter to play with then this set certainly ticks all the boxes. It’s so detailed that it’s guaranteed to keep her busy for a while!
